Role Overview

Sodexo is looking for a Facilities/Engineering Operations Manager 1 for a major pharmaceutical company in Rahway, NJ. The Facility Utilities Jr. Engineer is responsible for supporting the day-to-day facility operations, maintenance, regulatory reporting, and optimization of the powerhouse, chiller facilities and associated utility systems. This role ensures the reliable delivery of electricity, chilled water, and other utilities to support the facility's operations.

What You'll Do

  • Responsible to generate and maintain critical reports and functions, and to be able to perform these functions
  • Records daily city water usage for the site, provides customer data/reports regarding utility usage upon request, utilizing Resource Advisor
  • Organize usage records for presentation to various levels of management and to identify areas to further to reduce energy usage and costs site-wide
  • Maintains a reporting process to identify all inaccuracies of metering around the site to the Maintenance department for repair and problem solving, ensuring that the site utility meters are working
  • Acting as contractor and vendor liaison for Facilities Engineering team, provide support to Senior Utility Engineers
  • Issuing HRW permits (High Risk Work) per Client and employer’s guidelines
  • Routinely walks Chiller & Powerhouse facilities to ensure operations of equipment

What You Bring

  • Previous experience in powerhouse / large boiler(s) / co-generation / large chillers / DI or RO water systems preferred
  • Familiarity with nitrogen / natural gas/ steam / condensate / plant air / water systems
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, familiarity with engineering standards
  • Familiarity with GMP environments
  • Understanding of site water processes
  • Maintenance and Operations of facilities or utilities experience a plus
  • Conduct walking tours and inspections of interior and exterior facility areas, including use of stairways and ladders. Able to work on roofs of buildings, required to work in all weather conditions
