Role Overview

SodexoMagic is seeking a Food Operations Manager 2 at East Orange School District in East Orange, NJ.  Our ideal candidate will be a self-starter with stellar communication skills and the ability to effectively manage front-line production employees in a dynamic environment. At Sodexo, we deliver food, nutrition, environmental and facilities management solutions to partnered K-12 schools. SodexoMagic is the joint venture partnership between NBA Hall of Famer, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, and Sodexo. As a certified minority company, we deliver food, facilities management and integrated services to corporations, healthcare facilities, K-12 schools, colleges and universities and aviation lounges. This strategic alliance between Magic Johnson Enterprises and Sodexo, Inc., enables us to deliver creative solutions to our clients along with our local partners throughout the communities we serve.

What You'll Do

  • Maintains and develops client relationships and customer satisfaction for multi-functional food service areas to ensure account retention and positive public relations
  • Establishes and maintains a safe work environment
  • Supervises multiple K-12 school sites day-to-day work activities by delegating authority, assigning, and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards
  • Utilizes Sodexo resources and programs to ensure operating standards and regulatory requirements are met and employees have the necessary equipment and inventory'
  • Manages by providing positive and constructive feedback to employees in order to reward, coach, correct and motivate in order drive a high-level of employee engagement

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
